Our Lady of the Lake University Extends Partnership with Wiley University Services

Seven-year agreement includes plans for three new programs

Oak Brook, IL (30 July, 2018) –Wiley University Services, a division of Wiley that provides tailored services and technology solutions to higher education institutions, and Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) announce a seven-year extension of their existing partnership. The agreement will run through 2026 and includes the launch of three new programs: a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, a Master’s in Rehabilitative Counseling, and a PhD in Social Work.

OLLU, a regional university that is dedicated to diversity, service, and under-served populations, originally partnered with Wiley in 2011 to help realize the University’s five-year strategic plan for 2013 through 2018. The plan sought to increase enrollments through new modes of delivery and new program development, increase student persistence to graduation, provide more real-world learning experiences, prepare graduates for a multicultural workforce, empower the community to be innovative and entrepreneurial, and impact higher education on a national scale. The first program of the partnership, the Master of Social Work, was launched in 2012 with 14 students. Today that program has more than 1,000 students.

The University decided to extend the partnership because of Wiley’s success in furthering its mission and dramatically expanding its reach and services beyond what the University could support on its own. In addition to the above mentioned growth, Wiley has helped OLLU’s Master of Social Work increase its visibility on the national level—it now has online students in 44 states. “Wiley University Services has been a true partner on this journey,” said Dr. Marcheta Evans, OLLU Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. “With support from Wiley, OLLU has been able to expand its reach and share its values-based education and dedication to social justice with students across the United States.”

“Our Lady of the Lake University is doing important and meaningful work by increasing access to higher education,” said Matt Hillman, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Wiley University Services. “As a result of the collaborative relationship we have built over the years, OLLU felt very comfortable extending our relationship well into the future. We are proud to be a part of their mission and look forward to continue acting as a valued partner over the next seven years.”
